After felling, the stumps will be cut off neatly as close to ground level as possible, unless otherwise directed. Stumps that are likely to regenerate after felling should be treated with a suitable herbicide to inhibit re-growth. We reccomend using a brand called SBK which is a strong brushwood killer and is available from most nurseries etc. See HSE website for information on safe use of herbicides. STUMP GRINDING Stumps can be removed by grinding them with specialist machinery well below the ground. This allows you to reclaim the ground and either turf or re-plant. The mulch that is produced from the grinding can be used around the garden on flower beds or just simply to fill in the hole created.
